Ian Westley is one of England’s finest accompanists. He works regularly as repetiteur for a number of choirs and productions but still finds time to be the musical director of the Erleigh Cantors. Ian has appeared with Mark Kesel at recitals throughout Britain and is a regular guest artist for Chaconne Brass in their Christmas productions at Reading’s Town Hall. |

An invitation to an intimate presentation of Baroque and Classical music for trumpet and strings, including works by Purcell, Haydn, Torelli, and Albinoni. Given in period costume, the concert is an engaging and imaginative insight into the World of an 18th Century court musician.
For this concert Mark Kesel transports the audience back some 300 years, revealing the lifestyle, thoughts and often intolerant opinions from an era rich in musical gems and geniuses: A period of musical history that has left us with some of the most glorious and enduring music ever written. |

A lecture-recital of the very best and most exciting works written for trumpet and piano this Century. The concert will feature the winning composition from the most recent Sound the Trumpet annual composition competition.
In an attempt to enrich and broaden the repertoire for trumpet and piano, Mark Kesel gives a platform to the very best new works for this combination. The current musical trends and potential of the instruments is also explored, illustrated and discussed in Mark’s usual clear and entertaining style. |
